Why Blush??
A short name that is memorable"-- one of my favorite stores in Austin is called Strut", quoted Amanda. In my opinion, I think that Blush is a cute and catchy name that everyone would recognize easily as well as it reflecting the elegant pieces in the store. :)

Bold, Brilliant, and Beautiful, Amanda Clark an alumni of the University of Oklahoma and the University of Texas in Austin, is now here in Norman because she feels the most comfortable here individually opening a store. :) She owns a chic boutique in campus corner on 566 Buchanan Ave, Suite E. of Norman, Oklahoma. Amanda graduated with a degree in Publication at OU and a degree in Advertising at UT. Her hometown is Velma, Oklahoma, about a 1 hour and 15 min drive from Norman. Amanda has been married for four years with a beautiful daughter named Chloe. In between the time of after graduating and opening Blush, she was in an agency and a marketing job, but she ended up missing work relating with retail thus her business, Blush became her answer. Amanda's parents owns a boutique store, one that is western instead of the trendy store (that is still up and running!), that prepared her to be ready in the marketing business. She also had experience with working in Shoetopia, during college, gaining the knowledge of how college customers react to fashion! Blush opened in the August of 2007 offering a one stop shop for events, dates, or just casual wear. Because of her past experiences in the marketing field, her transaction to this store came natural to her. All she needed was time until documentation and conformation completed for here to begin her successful business.

Amanda Clark is simply sincere. While asked if she considered the other stores on campus corner as a competitor, she kindly answered no, with all of the different stores, it becomes a mass shopping center. As of trends, she states "How I keep up is by trying to go to Los Angles every three months". The other boutiques keep her on her "toes" so that she is always caught up. Always with a positive attitude, she explains that with retail, you have to make the decisions even if its very difficult and face what you get out of it. For example, with the clothing or accessories that do not sell as well because she had made the decision in buying it, she has to sell it at a lower price to at least not lose profit. Blush is a store where you can find similar items such as what Lucca has to offer. Because she was a recent college student, she realized that students need new clothes but has to keep a budget, and her store offers that kind of quality. Blush has unique pieces of clothing to accessories that only come in three to six pieces making it an exclusive opportunity to shine compared to Forever 21, a massive trendy clothing store.

An example in leadership for Amanda is with her five employees that work for her. With their work ethics, she expects the leaders to take the initiative to complete duties on time without being dependent. She wants to know that when she leaves the store just for one of the workers, the employee would fulfill the task in managing the store by their self and not let any dangers come to them or the store. A leader to Amanda is a self-motivated person that knows when things need to be done, such as tidying up the floor before closing the store down. Also, she considers qualities such as listening, following, and paying attention because if you get too focused in being the leader, you will miss out on the little important things that could probably be the best advice.

Overall, Amanda Clark is a talented young woman whom likes to succeed. One day I want to enter the field in business as successful as she us. Given the knowledge and artistic abilities to run, decide, and finish as she did makes me strive for the better future.

My Future - Boomer Sooner!! :)

MY FUTURE at OU!! Currently there is an event that is coming up here at OU, and I'm one of the freshmen who gets to plan, organize, and/or basically run this event! This event is to help children in Cambodia and Vietnam with children trafficking -- Stopchildrensexslavery.org. Well this is me right now for this semester.. this month. ahh.. but I've found so many interests in other organizations that I see myself being involved in, but my grades are my priorities!

What I see myself doing at the University of Oklahoma is building my education and experiences with the real life. By meeting new people and networking is something that will push me forward and succeed in life. :)
What I am most interested in is how a businesses work and the different challenges that are being faced, but I know a limited amount about that, so I need to get on track! I honestly do not know what I will become at OU, but something great for sure.

After just a few weeks in school, I've found myself doing double takes at the students in suits and business attire. Thinking to myself, that for sure will be me in the future. My interests I have is art like how a painting mushes together with brilliant glare and amazement. I have not went to the new art museum that opened, but that is on my to-do this semester list! Something I probably see myself doing in the future includes simply beautiful art and problem solving!

I attended the Back to School Business hosted from the Price college and I picture myself being involved with interning with Conoco Phillips or JCpenny learning about different companies and environments that I would have to face. In my junior year here at OU, I want to have interned in more than at least 5 companies. I don't know if that is too much or too less, but I want to make something of my life that would benefit others, especially my family. If I could do anything at OU, well there is too many great things to do but I know I wouldn't pull myself in a situation that would make me suffer! Success is a broad word, but I know that I will reach that at the University of Oklahoma. Everything is pretty amazing here and I would never change any bit of it. I know life is short because time keeps on going, but I right now my intentions at OU is to do all that I can handle and make something special out of it! :)

"You've gots a problem!??" -Attitude

In any group activity, attitude plays a major role in terms of success and completion of any given project. Having a positive attitude directs the whole group in a greater direction. In high school, I believe my class had major struggles with getting along with each other ever since the beginning of our freshmen year. Senior year was the most intense, but everyone pulled through and a more mature side of my classmates were shown to me. I'm not saying this in a bad connotation, but it was the truth that's impossible to hide!! and I believe that majority of the class saw it too. An example is with working with the homecoming float. I wished that we had more of a motive and that the students didn't have to work as much to be able to attend float building, but there was no way I could have changed that. It would have been fine with the few people that helped with the float, but when some students came wanting to only complain about the heat and the time being wasted, it became a problem. Their attitude shifted everyone's mood from being happy to angry or sad. In a group setting, being with a group and having positive theories maximizes the success that is wanted to be reached.

Having the best friend ever, with her best characteristic of being honest, is someone I look up to even though she is younger and shorter than I. haha. Her attitude is always chilled and she always loves to laugh. The ways my best friend Laura teaches me to be a better person with an excellent attitude is go not lie, and she states the harsh statements that would benefit me, not tear me down. For example, if given a friend with a bad attitude, it may end up influencing me in bad terms and I would not be at the best of my state after that whole year.

"Our attitudes are our most important assets because attitudes are the first impressions made to other people. My first opinion of anyone in general with a negative attitude is that person is grouchy and doesn't want to be bothered with. Many examples can be told endlessly but all that has to be done is kind manners sincerity topped off with a smile. :)

Problem vs. Challenge : COLLEGE

Problems are always in my life. I feel as if it's never ending, but I ultimately have to deal with it. My problems are like t-shirts, it's could be small, medium, or large!! haha :) But really between a challenge and problem, the only difference is the degree in hardship. A problem I faced today was not knowing how to manage my time. After my first class, I didn't realize that I had a psychology study at 11:00 am. I thought I only had one study to go to, but then as I checked my email and rushed to that study--I was late but luckily they let me in. After sitting at the desk and regaining myself, I had another study in ten minutes and would have been late so I canceled the one I was late to and went to my other study. Now that's what you call my problem of the day. I was sweaty and tired from rushing and I missed out on getting a valuable point for my class. My psychology class has been a problem to a challenge to me because besides the whole being late part, a problem is my grade in psychology leading towards a challenge to achieve a higher grade. I feel like I'm the only freshman struggling in that class!! ehhk! I'm still very behind with the modules that we are required to do. (A lot!) I'm behind at this point, but I'm trying real hard to keep up. Hopefully at the end it should all pull through, but I have other classes on top of psychology to be in line with. I hate regrets, but right now, I'm behind and regret not being on top of things at the beginning of the year. For those upcoming freshmen, Get'er Done!

Additional to the time management problem, it's a big challenge now because I know that college is not as easy as high school, especially those deadlines! They are so cruel! but I know it serves a purpose in teaching us real life experiences and responsibility. So many things to do, and I'm Ohh soo busy always! But lets be optimistic. Have a happy day now! :D
